EMU

Welcome to Eastern Michigan University - Marketplace

This basic self-defense course for women begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction, and avoidance, while progressing on to the basics of hands-on defense training. RAD is not a Martial Arts program. It is a program of realistic, self-defense tactics and techniques specifically designed for women who are willing to consider defense, as a viable option, in situations where their life is in jeopardy.
This class will meet weekly from 6pm-8:30pm at Rec Im room 127 for 6 weeks beginning October 25th.

On the final day of class students will have the option to participate in scenarios in which they can practice what they have learned. On the final day of class students will have the option to participate in scenarios in which they can practice what they have learned.

Students will learn:
- hands on techniques specifically designed for women's defense
- how to be more aware of potential threats to their safety
- how to apply risk reduction and risk avoidance strategies to their everyday life

The RAD system of physical defense is currently being taught at many universities and colleges. The widespread acceptance of this system is primarily due to the ease, simplicity, and effectiveness of our tactics, solid research, legal defensibility and unique teaching methodology.

Upon completion of this course, the student will be certified in RAD Systems and will qualify for a lifetime return to practice at no additional cost.

For individuals that do not have a Rec Im Membership a $5 entry fee will apply for each class session.
